In 2023 we raised vital funds for a local charity to support victims of domestic abuse in our community. 

At Innova Solutions, we’re proud to support the incredible work of Colne Open Door Centre and their vital efforts in helping victims of domestic violence. Because of your donations and support of our fundraising efforts, we’ve been able to support the charity in facilitating a new program to help domestic violence victims understand and make sense of their experiences, a vital step in their journey to healing. 

Domestic violence is a harrowing experience that affects victims on multiple levels – mentally, physically, and emotionally. It’s a tragic reality that many people endure, and it’s a situation that no one should have to face. Through the generosity of supporters, Colne Open Door Centre really does make a huge difference.

We are proud to learn that our recent donations have enabled the charity to introduce the FREEDOM Programme at their facilities. This program is a crucial step in addressing domestic abuse by examining the roles played by attitudes and beliefs in the actions of abusers and the responses of victims. By helping victims make sense of their experiences and understanding that the blame lies with the perpetrator, the FREEDOM Programme offers a path towards healing and recovery.

Importantly, the program also sheds light on how children are impacted when exposed to domestic abuse. Their lives can be severely affected, but with the removal of abuse, there is hope for improvement and a brighter future.

Through our donations, we have supported the training of Jessica, a dedicated Crisis Worker at Colne Open Door Centre. Jessica will be able to deliver and facilitate this much-needed support program, bringing hope and healing to those who have suffered.

We believe in the power of collective efforts, and your donations to our fundraising efforts have played a significant role in making a positive impact on the lives of local people. The work of Colne Open Door Centre extends far beyond addressing domestic violence. They provide assistance in various areas, from food poverty and counselling to debt support, homelessness, mental health support, and more.
