News - Raising Funds to Thank our Local NHS Heroes

We have teamed up with Indigo Financial Advice to raise £5,000 to thank our local NHS heroes, which we hope will go some way to provide a number of care packages for NHS frontline workers who are going above and beyond to tackle COVID within the region.

Both Blackburn Royal and Airedale hospital staff are under increasing pressure, especially with local COVID hospital admissions possibly due to peak over the coming weeks.

“We wanted to do something tangible to help keep spirits high and let NHS staff know the local community is thinking about them. With the money we raise we can put together a range of care packages which include hand creams, face creams, scented candles, bubble bath along with healthy food options, food hampers and take away vouchers – essentially anything that can make their downtime easier.”

Glenn Dunleavey, MD, Innova Solutions.

A Just Giving page has been set up, and is already some way to its target, but we urge local businesses and individuals to give as little or as much as they can. All the funds raised will go towards putting the care packages and hampers together and given directly to NHS frontline workers.

“I spoke to a client who is working with COVID patients at Airedale and asked what NHS workers would like, they came up with the list, so we know it will be appreciated and will go some way to ease the incredible pressures they are under. We know all frontline NHS workers are doing all they can and more, but when it’s so close to home it makes it all the more real. We wanted to do something to let them know we are thinking about them. A Clap for Heroes just wasn’t enough.”

Darren Turner, Indigo Finance Advice.

We want to give as many packages as possible to all frontline workers including A&E staff, those working on COVID wards, ambulance and paramedic teams, as well as porters, security, catering staff, and hopefully hospice and care home teams.

“Any amount of money will make a difference and for many businesses should be tax-deductible. We are hoping to reach our grand total of £5,000, and start giving out these care packages as soon as possible.”

THANK YOU GLENN & DARREN
