ISO 17398

ISO is the International Organization for Standardization. ISO 17398 specifies the performance requirements (in terms of durability and expected service life) of safety signs according to the expected service environment.

It incorporates standards for principal materials, photometric properties, fixing methods and surface. 

ISO 16069 

ISO 16069 describes the principles governing the design and application of visual components (electrically powered and photoluminescent) used to create safety way guidance systems (SWGS).

The standard is intended to assist in defining the material, layout, installation and maintenance of SWGS in specific environments.  

DIN 67 510 Parts 1 & 4

Europe’s largest standardization body is the internationally recognised German standard for luminance performance in photoluminescent materials.

DIN 67 510 Part 1 relates to measurement standards; Part 4 to products for use in photoluminescent escape route systems, markings and applications.

IMO resolution 752(18)

The International Maritime Organisation resolution requires low location lighting on ships to comply with PSPA Class B or higher and DIN 67510 Part 4, and have Lloyd’s Register approval. Through compliance with each of those standards, Glo-Brite® meets the requirements of the IMO resolution.

New York City Local Law 26

Local Law 26 was enacted to make high rise buildings safer in the wake of 9/11. The law requires all buildings taller than 75 feet to install approved photoluminescent safety egress materials.
